Maybe go lighter on line ? Or heavier jigheads with number 6 so it accompanies a small plastic properly .....I FREE line a lot, as in let my line be limp or very much not in touch ....crappie can’t stand a slow slow bait that is close to neutral buoyancy and falls terribly slowly ...maybe tight lines isn’t what you need to seek my friend ...

Nice catch.......I can deal with heavy wind on the bank but it drives me nuts in the boat.
