If it is Alkyl cocatalyst used in the making of copolymer rubber, those workers need to evacuate. Alkyl is pyrophobic. It is normally stored in vessels that are filled with inert gas(N2). Oxygen will cause a violent ignition. Water will cause a violent and huge explosion. I have been to demonstrations where water was sprayed on a pint or so. Made about a 30 ft fireball. Those units may have thousands of gallons. Very scary. People seek the jobs in plants for the good pay. But there is so much risk involved with all the chemicals.
