You know, if you keep posting up thoughtful, articulate, full of common sense observations such as this, you're going to basically put the tackle companies out of business and we'll all have to cut back on all the clutter we carry with us to fish.
Imagine simply carrying 3 styles of bodies, in maybe 3 colors and calling it good.........it would all fit in a 1 quart plastic sandwich bag instead of 35 different body styles and sizes, each in 14 different colors along with 5 different colored jig heads in assorted weights, all carried in 3 or 4 big tackle boxes.

When I can catch any pan fish on any of these lures, what's the point in buying more!!

Of course I will buy even more when someone hands me a superb design that proves there's always something new around the corner to add to the list (such as Leland's Crappie Magnet Grubs* - just ordered 10 different colors / 200 baits!; Slider Worms in five colors; Kut tail worms, etc.) I just can't pass up a good sale or great design.
