I am getting ready to buy a 3 pole spyderlock - want to give it a try and looks like if you do not sypder rig you can still just use this to hold the pole if you are running a slip bobber. I do not have any pole holders up front, I think this looks good. Thinking mount it opposite side of trolling motor for a start.

how far away from seat do you mount, any suggestions

I sat in the seat and moved it around til, I found what I thought was a comfortable position to fish from. Ya, don't want to have to reach to far.

ok thanks - I am deliberating if I should get the 4 pole holder. Not much more money and more versatility. We can only fish with 3 poles but I think the 4 holder would give more options.

I just got 4 sets of 4 pole spyderloks in myself. Got two installed on the rear yesterday. Couldn’t get the front ones on yet and ran out of time
