    Thanks. This is the completed project look.... They do an excellent job of protecting my rods and reels at all times ( storage, transport and in the truck from kids stepping on the tips)

    Cache22 is right. The rods are repairable to their original condition if you did not lose the broken off pieces. I use a smaller piece to go inside both broken pieces and a slightly larger diameter piece to cover the outside of the splice. The procedure works well and the rod will maintain its original action. A guide or two on the damaged area will usually have to be removed and then reattached after the splice is complete

    repaired the tips with the kit I ordered and didn't seem to lose a whole lot of action.. the Diawa Spinmatic rod showed up yesterday and while I like it,it is pretty whippy.. does cast a tiny lure a long way though.
