10 Spyder rigs, 8 light spinning rigs for long lining, 2 jig poles, plus a casting rod. But, my favorite is the jig poles. I do love crankin during the hot months. I also have other fishermen in my boat a lot. I can and have fished many ways with success, but tight lining or vertical jigging is my favorite, the basics!! I might add that I do not use minnows.

I recently moved to a small lake. So I sold my G3 bass boat, with all the bells and whistles, and bought a 1960 14 ft Alumacraft with a 1970 Johnson 9.5 hp outboard and an old 12 volt trolling motor. On many of the lakes I now fish, including my home lake, I find myself using the oars as much as anything and fishing with one rod. Although I sometimes miss being able to stand up on the front deck and casting for bass like I did with the G3, I am enjoying the simplicity of the whole thing now. Fewer things to fix. It reminds me of when I fished with my grandpa.

To all, who have read and / or left a message to this post. I love to fish and catch fish anyway I can. I m not knocking any ones way of catching fish. I will use any method to catch crappie. I just love the THUMP and simplicity of single pole jigging!!

I love my big boat, Although I miss the 14' jon boat. As I age, I need a more stable boat for my unstable body. I went fishing yesterday with Spindle and we caught a few, Could not get a bite with 6 poles out spyder rigged. Caught a few jigging trash, stumps and tree tops. We had to drop jigs in the brush and hold it still for 20/30 seconds and jig it up 1' and let back down. The THUMP came on the drop! Please enjoy your new rig & basic fishing tactics.

I've got all the gear to spider rig but my absolute favorite way to catch crappie is single pole jigging. Dock shooting is right up there too. Since I fish by myself most of the time spider rigging is too much work to be fun. I can catch all I can eat with a single pole. If I was a tournament fisherman the opposite would be true but I tried it for a couple of years and decided I didn't like constantly having to pattern fish on new lakes every month or so.

My wife and I fish a lot, she fishes with two poles and I fish one. We fish from bank and it's all about finding a good spot. She usually out fishes me but we both have fun.
Have thought of getting a little boat, if we do it will still be two rods for her and one for me, we love it, what else can I say.

I single pole a lot. Usually use my Zebco 33 combo 1970'S fiberglass edition rigged out with a slip bobber and minner. Sometimes Ima just too lazy to rig the boat up and troll 200 feet. Billbob knows this too. Don't wanna fish to late cause KFC closes at 7pm sharp.
