I "push" jigs, which is basically a crossbreed of those two methods, when I'm not "casting" jigs, of course.

But, if I were fishing an unfamiliar body of water .... definitely longlining, so I could cover as much territory as possible in the least amount of time, especially pre-spawn since they're likely to be somewhat scattered & moving.
