Listen..my Mother had this exact same thing. I had a very frank discussion with her doctor after the diagnosis. They did not know what caused the excessive tissue that created the obstruction nor even for sure what the tissue was. I pressed him pretty hard but in the end we just went along with the whole procedure from the trach to the corrective surgery to the recovery. In the end it all worked out. Just one of those strange medical conditions. No one else in the family has ever had anything similar.

Glad to hear doc's were able to help. With the advances medicine is making on an almost daily basis, your
wifes' case will light a spark under some university researcher and they will come up with a solution.
