I'm not much help. I used stren braid, mostly cuz I got it cheap on closeout and it worked fine but had a bigger diameter. All of the others are very close in characteristics to power pro(I use 10/2 hi vis), looping the rod tip and so on, but it casts like nothing else. The stiffer lines won't cast light baits as well IMHO. In salt water I have used a 20lb braid and out cast a stiffer line by a huge margin and reached schooling fish. My partner could do nothing but watch. I've had such good results with the Power pro that until I have someone put something better in my hand and prove to me how much better it performs without losing the qualities I like, I'll just stick it out. Interested in seeing where this goes, always up to learn something new about a new product.

I liked the Stren better than power pro and spiderwire. 8#test 2#diam. To bad you can't find it anymore.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

Check Academy if you have one. Pretty sure I seen some at our Academy earlier this week.

Interesting, because the last time I bought some was about 3 years ago. I had to order it from an Academy store in Missouri. Thanks

I can tell you that Fins windtamer is the most forgiving of all the braids I have used. Will be changing to it next time I respool. Used it last week on the guided trip in Sanibel. And there was many times things happened that I expected a huge mess of knots and nothing happened. If it had been the Power Pro I use would have been a complete mess, cut and retie and loose 15 more yards of line. Not this stuff. Great stuff.

One of the saltwater shows I watch is always bragging about Fins. I think it's Blair Wiggins.

i have used a few different braids ....they will all saw right thru eyelets ceramic or not ....that is if you ketch lots a fish ....LOL
they will all get tangled in a knot so small you cant possibly untangle it .......
they will all break a right fine rod right quickly as well ....
and it will cut fire out of you as well ...
i use braid on 2 rods regularly ....both are way past durable rods and i have learned to watch out for this stuff ...
i am minus at least 3 rods because of braid and might kill yet another before its all said and done ....
and you best know your knots or they will break or pull out if you dont tie the right knot on braid ....
as far as whats best i have no clue ...it all seems like just braid to me ...

I'm sorry Ketchn, but none of that is true unless you are using cheap 3 strand braid and low cost eyelets, or just have no clue about how to use braid.
I have had the same 3 rods for the past 10 years, and have used braid since it came out (original Spiderwire) (which was wire)....and my eyelets are just fine. And I catch thousands of fish a year...from Crappie, to Bass, Walleye, and Cats.
The new braids are very manageable, and do not wind knot if you know what you're doing.
If you are breaking rods, then that is "Operator Error", not a braid issue.
If you cut yourself with braid, that is also your fault....how many times has it been posted about not pulling on braid.
A Palomar or Double Palomar knot works just fine...and is what is recommended.
Not all braid is the same....research is your friend.

This is my "Cheap" rods...you can research to see how old they are....they are 2pc, to fit in my Camaro trunk.
That is 17lb Smackdown, in Hi Vis on the spinner, and 17lb low vis on the coffee grinders.
I use 17lb because of the varied toothy critters in our lake...and It's the size of 4lb mono.
