Crows are really smart. I feed birds in my backyard and have a feeder that holds peanuts that I use to feed blue jays. It is a coiled spring thing that requires some effort on the part of the birds to get the peanuts out. I have crows that come to to the feeder, but only one has figured out how to get the peanuts out. I recognize him because he has a white feather on his right wing. He gets the peanuts out of the feeder and then drops the peanuts onto the ground for his friends. He pulls enough peanuts out of the feeder to feed his friends, and when they are done, he feeds himself.
