I only use regular bend hooks when the particular jig isn't one of mine or isn't available in a sickle. I have gotten some that had a smaller barb but I have had so much better hook ups with sickles that I use only them. I pour my own and was so impressed with them that when I ordered hooks I bought 7000 in various sizes. No going back for me.
