As a kid growing up in the sixties...everyday at school...we stood at allegiance, faced the flag, and recited the pledge of allegiance.EVERYDAY.I remember even now,as young as the first grade...how proud of my country I was. And how proud, and decent , and humble the veterans of,WW1, WW2 and Korea were. And the day my oldest brother got his draft notice for Vietnam,he got a deferment. But his best friend didn't and he died there. And the day they all came home. And setting in school wondering if it would still be going on when I graduated. Things changed after that war.
Just sharing the thoughts that generated.
