    Mike, I think it would work fine. I have two of the 8' FnF rods (Duckworth version) as I was a fieldtester for BnM for those rods. They're great for using floats, or even just casting.

    I think the longer rods w/longer handles would even be better, and I see no reason why it wouldn't serve you well as a "double duty" rod.

    My field test model has seen plenty of action to CP...Hard to believe two OL' KENTUCKY BOYS helped design such a great rod...lol...
