Lots of folks have old bass crankbaits laying around in tackle boxes that haven't been wet in years. I probably have well over 200 cranks in my boat but this weekend we went old school and dragged out some of those old baits in traditional patterns. It was pretty much the pattern we caught all our fish on. All my Bandits and custom painted Chinese baits stayed dry. That's as far as I'm going with my info. Just don't give up on those old "Bass" baits. Check out some flea markets and yard sales. Might find a gem. From Saturday catch.

I hadn't even thought about yard sales, there's a bunch going on now that the weather has gotten better.
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

Be safe and good luck fishing
I sure hope this crank bait pulling is fun. Bc you can sure burn through some dough trying to get set up to do it.
I enjoy it especially on the cloudy days when the dock shooting isn't hot. If you fish a lake with spotted bass or stripe in it you'll get sick of catching them after awhile. I've caught a good many catfish big bluegill and shellcracker too
