    caught my one and only 3 lb crappie 3 years ago- came home all pumped up bout getting a mount- got on the phone & got quotes...............filleted her.... ate real good! moneys tight these days! LOL!
    My wife swears I only do enough surveying to support my hunting & fishing because I'm too busy hunting & fishing !

    I love all here mounts but just don't care for the open mouths. The only open mouth I ever see on a fish is when they're dead laying on a layer of ice. I know they are opening to take a bait but if you watch a video of it it's only for a millisecond and then they're closed again. Same goes for the flared gills. I'm surprised the "artist" does stick a fake thumb in their mouths with them gapping so wide. Why do taxidermists insist on this? I would do more mounts if they would do them the way I want and in a more natural resting state which the fish is 99% of its life. Still think they all look really nice just prefer to see a mount with a fish in the pose I imagine they are in the moment before my jigs drops to them. Never saw a deer mount with the face grimacing as the bullet enters its body.

    got to admit crappie are the most beautiful fish in the water,my opinion.all those mounts were great.
