Without any weight at all , the lure has a significante bill, so what is the depth it will run without any weight at a slow speed say, very slow troll?

I like running mine off the front so I can see some of the baits on the depth finder. 3 oz has been best for me. Haven't had one get in the trolling motor yet but keep them spread pretty wide. Pushing 6 and pull 4 out back.
I work contour lines and do a lot of turning.
