I have gotten several laughs out of this thread. The bottom line is what several people have mentioned, this day and time there is no respect for fellow sportsman. Not only with crappie fishing but back home where we hand fish people will watch you through binos and see where your spots are and fish them when your not around. Burns me to no end sometimes! Not gonna keep me from fishing though!

the best way to keep unwanted company at bay, is catfish dip bait! you know, the stuff that looks like peanutbutter and smells like heck and the smell won't go away for hours? I like the brand "Sonneys the best, but there is also hogg wild, wicked sticky", team catfish, ect.
they tie up close and won't leave? tie up a dip tube, get out the sonneys, and load as much bait onto that hook as possible, and make sure use a side-arm cast so that the excess bait might just happen to fling toward your unwanted guests (by accident, of course). no more your bait hits the water, reel it in while saying "dang it! I flung all my bait off!" then re-bait and repeat!!! it works good and the folks don't have to be right on top of ya, either. you can fling a gob of goo a good 50 foot or more if you "accidentally" forget to open the bail of your spinning reel!

fishermen or pleasure boaters it the same thing - no respect for others- this past sat I had 3 separate incidents in 1 day! 1) I was sitting in the back of a long cove way off the main lake (Buggs Island- 50,000 ac. of water) with a buoy marking a brush pile in 10' fow- had caught 4 keepers on it already- a tight s curve comes into the back of the cove I hear a boat roaring & turn around to see a pontoon coming in pulling 2 skiers - my fist thought was im gona have to jump outa the boat! they see that's there's no cove left so kill it & set it down bout 30 yrds away then all start laughing throw out an anchor turn on the music & start jumping in to swim- 2) after leaving that fiasco I decided to go shoot some docks- catch a couple fish & am just all pulled back to shoot when catch movement outa the corner of my eye - 2 kayakers paddling like he.... & laughing trying to & succeeded in passing between me & dock before I can shoot & im only bout 10' off the dock- wonder if they'd still been laughing if id let go of that jig & stuck it in one of em,s ear?- 3) last & best didn't even involve another boater- I go on down the lake to shoot some more docks - pulling up getting ready to shoot a dock- no one on the dock or even on the shore but I see a memorial day cookout going on bout 100yrds up on the bank- just as I shoot the first time a woman comes running down the hill waving her arms & screaming "we don't allow fishing here" all the way out onto the dock- I just tip my hat & troll on off- she must of been Mrs. Buggs- guess it is her lake!--- cant fix stupid
My wife swears I only do enough surveying to support my hunting & fishing because I'm too busy hunting & fishing !

Easiest thing to do at Enid is to get in hearing distance , dial a friend and hang up . When he calls back say " how many yawl got ? 36 ? then say are yawl at Billy's or Bynum . and they disappear !

I have had this happen, yes sir, pulled up right beside me, and he started to catch my fish. I pulled up my trolling motor, and said, I just got to scout this area to se what is holding these fish. I drove at wake speed with my depth finder on, in circles, around that fellow for 20 minutes and kept saying, wow you ought to see this, and that. His boat was a rocking like two teenagers were in it, the waves made it impossible for him to fish, but at least I was able to look at some good "cover" Needless to say, he mumbled something and left.
This works as well, but is a little work. Take 2-4 catfish rods, with treble hooks (big uns) and start to fast troll for catsfish. You get the idea.

I would have looked at her and keep right on fishing. When going to an area like that I think its a good idea to have the GW's phone number in your phone. When she starts her bull give him a call then ask her for her name and number so that I may give it to the GW as he wants to have a chat with her. I might have even still been setting there even if I were not catching. But I would hae keep fishing. Have seen people on the yak forum that had video with audio setups on their boats. I like this and the one thing I would want to add to it is a monitor and the ability to make the camera scan. Would be worth showing to a GW/judge while making a complaint for being harressed.

Think i might have found a solution to this. FLY FISHING. Was on a small public lake this week, and the bream were on the beds bigtime. Out comes the flyrod and poppin bug.
had several boats act like they wanted to come see what i was doing, as i caught over 125 big watchband bream on that flyrod in about 5 hours! i did notice though, that they all took note of my considerable flyrod skills, and would only get within shouting distance!
Think i'll start carrying that flyrod more often! m Never hurts to practice!
