Where to put weight for spider rigging

Right now I have two splitshot bullet weights (1/4 oz ea) about a foot above a single hook. I added a real tiny splitshot right above the hook so the minner doesnt wrap the line around the weights. Worked great on my last fishing trip. Beforehand, I was using a 1 oz bell sinker on bottom with a single hook tied via a loop know about 16" above the weight.

Check out the Capps & Coleman rig at B&M and the Kentucky rig a Grizzly Jigs. I use my weight on the bottom with jigs and in between the hooks on a bait rig.(about 12-14" apart) I tie a snap swivel between the hooks on my bait rigs so I can change weight sizes quickly. Wind, current, and speed determine the size weight I use. I do the same thing on my jig rigs with the weight on bottom. I do use minnows on my jigs sometimes. Either way you like it is fine.

i wrap the line through the hole in an egg sinker 4 times and keep it about 30" above the bottom hook.

I've all but forgotten about those rubber core slip sinkers. I gotta remember to look for a couple packs of them next time I'm in a sportings good store.

I should say that for most of my rigs I use a bullet worm weight, slide it on the the rig where ever you want the weight, then a small bead and tie a knot at the place you want the weight. The bead will pull up into the hollow shaped back of the weight and the rig doesn't hang on the weight very often.

Will 1/2 oz. weight let you troll fast enough to get gps to work? Mine seem to slat back towards too much with that small weight on. Help ! ��
