sounds like most of you are pretty lucky.the nearest good lake is 1.5 hrs and the the lakes i like to fish are all at least 2.5 hrsfrom here.there is a small lake about 20 min from my house but it is overrun with jetskis and overstocked with striper which ruins it for crappie fishin.

    Default Not to bad

I can be at 3 different lakes within a half hour. Lake Mattoon, Lake Paradise and my main one, Lake Shelbyville. About six lakes within an hour. Newton, Mill Creek, Lake Sara.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

    Default Several

I fish 6-8 different lakes or rivers regular around the house. The closest is 40 minutes and the furthest is around 2 hours. There are 4 or 5 others that I go to about once a year within 1 1/2hours.

LOL @ SSTupperware! Must be just terrible.
I live 50 minutes from the dam at Grand Lake, 40 minutes from Markem Ferry, 45 minutes from Fort Gibson, 25 minutes from Skiatook, and My Home lake, Oologah, is about 4 miles from my house to one of the main boat ramps. Oologah has over 107,000 surface acres. It also has some Monster Crappie. I have no reason to go anywhere else other than to join a friend elsewhere.

    David, it's great aint it?

I live 1/2 mile from Anderson Creek in East Lauderdale.

1 mile to Elk River ramp on 72. 2 miles to another one on Elk River near the mouth.

About 3 miles to Elk River at Sportsman Park.

    4 miles to First Creek.

    6 miles to Second Creek.

It's easier to drive to the boat ramp nearest my fishin holes than it is to go by boat.

Hey there westtx, I grew up in Lubbock, went to Frenship High (1983). Anyway, the last time I was there Alan Henry didn't even exist. Did some catfishing at Buffalo, that's about it. But I bet the way I crappie fish here in Arkansas in deep, clear water over and in brushpiles would work great on Alan Henry's offshoots and deep ledges. That's what I imagine it to be since they just flooded a canyon. Keep in touch and if I ever get crazy enough to return to the desert, let's go fishing.
