I just don't think it would work good in some of the black water in the south. CF

    True

Stained water cuts the visability distance WAY down. I use mine to check out specific FF hits to see what the structure is... I have to drop it right in on top of it to see. One lake I fish has near gin clear water and I get about 16ft viewable distance.

    Default Video I made

Here is a video I made on Bay Springs Lake in Mississippi. We can see ok as long as the water is pretty clear. In this water I could see my jig down 4 foot deep.

I use it on Lake Michigan for lake perch, when I'm over a school put it down to the bottom to see if they are perch or gobies.

Do your homework and read the reviews and all the info you can on all the underwater cameras before you buy one. You get what you pay for. The cheep ones are not good.

I like the temp read out mine has. Put it down one time into a 30' brush pile with 92 degree surface temp. It was 65 degrees at the brush pile and loaded with crappie. Hard to see in bright sunshine.

Do you guys have the Aqua view, or other models. I have been looking at them all, Fish Tv makes a cheaper one, and Cabelas makes one as well. I guess its the same ol' "you get what you pay for"?

I have an Agua View, and it is a nice camera, IF you have the right color of water, hard to see much if the water is stained or has a lot of algie in it.

I have the Aqua View also. You might think the lake is clear but when you drop the camera down 15 or 20' the water is stained and you don't see far. It's a good tool to check out your brush and other places that you may be catching crappie at just to see what is holding the crappie.
