I went to Caney looking for chickapin. Wind was terrible so went hide in a cove. Caught a nice crappie by accident on a red worm on a pole just hanging out over the side. Kept looking for chickapin for the next hour till I finally decided to fish for crappie with a blue/white tube jig under a cork about 2 feet.
I was in 8
ft of water but could see 4 ft of grass growing off the bottom. Those crappie were hiding in that grass waiting for something to ambush. Ended up with 7 crappie, a bass, and 4 small bream.
I tried to attach a photo , but the app wouldn't let me...wrong file type. Sorry.
Anyway, I enjoyed Caney Lake but I won't go back unless there is NO wind!
