    Default Darbone 11/8

Did a little fishing Friday morning before the rain. Tried some spots up the creek I've never been to before and did pretty good. Found a good mess of black crappie on tops and stumps, and that's exactly what I was looking for.

Most fish were 3 to 6ft deep, caught pitching a 32nd hand tie with a mallard flank tail and letting that slow pendulum fall entice those picky fish.

Special thanks to Brother Warren and Pawpaw Bud for hosting us Saturday night. We enjoyed visiting as usual....

Thsnk you Ed for the pocket knives as well.

Had a great time!! Thanks to Brother Warren and Uncle Bud for hosting, the fellowship, and the delicious food!!

I did manage to fish a little bit. Had trouble finding “target species “.
I put in Friday afternoon at the ramp at Farmerville by the bridge. Went upstream. Lake is severely low!! Caught small catfish and drum (gou). One tiny crappie!
Saturday afternoon, went to same landing, went down stream. More catfish and gou, but caught one nice crappie, and another small one. Huge schools of catfish everywhere. Silver with white feather and red flash.

I had great plans on being there to join in on the fun and food. I was looking forward to visiting with some of the wonderful people I’ve met over the years. In my stricken condition the six hour drive would have been a real challenge and might have been harmful to me. I sure missed not being there since I have only missed one other weekend since the first one headed up by Cajun Dave and that was because of the autoimmune disease I came down with. Glad to hear y’all had a good time under poor conditions. Thanks to brother Warren for his effort to keep it going and to those who attended.
