    Default Old River Morganza

Made a morning trip to Old River with my oldest for Father’s Day. Launched around 6:30 and headed east to try to put him on some bass early. A strong south wind made it too rough at my normal spots so we stuck to the calmer water but no luck. Around 730 we started hitting the floating rafts. Bite was good but had to fight through the gar and goo. Around 9 the wind switched from the east and the fish disappeared. Around 10 we decided to start trolling with cranks (first time for me but won’t be the last). Pulled in another gar and big catfish before missing a handful and calling it a day around 11:30. Released the fish to live another day and finished off the day with some world famous Old River Landing mud fries.
