I always like your post. They all start with an optimistic view.

The net is very east to fix. Start with a 1" all thread with the diameter of the tubes id, taper the ends, fill threads with epoxy, hammer one end 1/2" into the base then push the tube into the other end.
Don't forget to put a net on before you do this. lol
I know this will be more expensive than a new net, but you don't lose all the memories.
