    Default Ol River…Point Coupee

Decided to try Ol River this morning…water still pretty high. Had a really fun day, but it was tough fishing! Fish were really tight in the bushy trees. Caught these at Bundy slew fishing north and at the mouth of Batchalor slew. Blue/white tubes were best.

I’m not near the fisherman these other guys are, but I’ve always looked for 25’ at Baton Rouge and falling to start going. That’s when I’ve started catching there.

I look at the Baton Rouge gauge; and will start fishing Ol River when the Baton Rouge gauge hits 30 feet and falling. Sometimes it’s good, but not all the time. And it can be fished all the way down. They are in bushes now but as the water falls they move to the cypress tress…then piers…
