Jack Millers
Guys...I think most of you would agree this has been a bad year for fishing so far with all the water! So I checked the water gage this morning for the Jack Miller area and it’s at a pretty good level. Get there and the water looks good everywhere...but hardly a bite!!!! I have caught fish there many times in the past 30 plus years when the conditions looked pretty much the same...I don’t know what’s going on...!
Boats everywhere!!!
Anyway...just wanted y’all to know!
To end on a positive note, had friends catch a few south of Ramah in the spillway this week, and my brother did good Tuesday at Henderson..., he went back Thursday and didn’t do so good!
I have a feeling, with the water falling, fishing is going to get good everywhere soon!!!
Good fishing and good luck to all...and GOD bless!!!

Hey DA, you bet I'm ready for the ms river to fall. I'll be between old river Morgan's and old river south of Pigeon.
Cow island lake could be worth a try.

The river messed my year up. The only place I fish regularly is Old River but looks like we won’t be fishing there til at least mid August. On a good note I’ve fished Lake Verret multiple times and had good trips every time. Just need to figure out how to put some sacalait in the boat instead of catfish.

JR & LSU...,
I’m with y’all...waiting for lower, falling water!!!
It will b interesting to see what happens at ol river, n morganza, when it gets to fishable levels! I start there when the Mississippi gage in Baton Rouge hits 30 feet..., but don’t know if that has ever happened in August or September! Can’t wait to try!

I haven’t either. Might have to give up a bow hunt or 2 in October to go. My dad has always told me that the bass fishing is great in the fall. I’ve been out there in November before to bass fish and saw some people sacalait fishing. Told me they do good late fall when the water starts cooling off and is still low. Small crowds too due to hunting season.
