Went to make some final preparations. Not good. Water up to my top step. Bout 4-5” before it’s on the porch and about a foot until it’s inside! Stepped out my boat onto the front porch.

Only about 1.5 ft before it gets my camp on Saline. Thought I was gonna dodge it this year, but no way that's happening now.

Ok the water is rising a lot. We won’t dodge the bullet this time Larto/Saline complex is going under guys. Fourth rise this year.

They are opening the Bonnet Carre Spillway today. This will ease some pressure, but I'm afraid it's too late.

Bonnet Carrie has nothing to do with LARTO.

If they wouldn't have closed it so early last time we probably wouldn't be in the predicament that we are in now.

Yeah not Larto directly, but they've been diverting water from the Mississippi river into the atchafalaya for months, which does not allow the black and red river to drain like it should. This will take some pressure off of that. In no way will it prevent flooding, but it will eventually help flood waters recede faster.

I pulled out my camper and boat today. Water was over the road and noticeably rising quickly. Looks bad for the complex. Wishing all of our friends the best. Have not heard an official forecast but I am hearing several more feet expected. Lets hope that is not correct. We need a drought!

We pulled out yesterday. Water is rising fast. I’ve never seen it come up so fast. I haven’t heard anyone give an official prediction of any kind. It is what it is folks.
