Hi CBOB,
I fish shiners under a cork a lot and I only use stren hi-vis gold in 6lb.
I say "only" because I just want to buy 1 kind of line.
For me, 4lb was good but I broke line too often
Shiners need to swim, 6lb line and a bb sinker 6 inches above the hook works.
My eye sight is not the best, the hi-vis gold part lets me keep track of the line
Right now the azaleas are blooming, to me that means sacs are on the cypress trees.
Grab some shiners, find some cypress trees away from the bank, set your cork depth for somewhere around 15 inches.
Throw close to the trees and hang on!!!
Let us know what line you decide on.
