I was a little better prepared today. Water pump was pumping and two new 31 series Duracell trolling motor batteries. However, the lake had come up probably 18-22 inches since last weekend. That's a lot of fresh water to overcome. I kept 5 crappie, all over 10 inches, and one catfish. Threw back about twice as many as I kept. Caught most of them on one of my handtied jigs; pink head and chartreuse body and tail. Caught one crappie and the catfish on an electric chicken on a pink head. I got ya'll a few pictures. Hope you enjoy them. Caught one fish on another one of my handtied jigs in pink/purple/chartreuse. Caught them close to bottom in 6-8 feet of water. Some on trees, some in what looked to be open water. It was a beautiful day to be fishing on one of God's lakes.

On more of a somber note; my wife found out today that her mother, who has Alzheimer's, is now in stage 4 kidney failure. Please pray for Diane and her family.
