    Default Not a crappie question.

I know it's not a crappie question and please remove if not allowed. Was wondering if you guys knew where I could go catch some giant bream? My motor is above restriction size for black bayou lake. With the river so high I'm not sure where to go after em. Thanks.

Not sure how far you a willing to drive, but Henderson has some giant bream in good numbers. Also miller's lake near Ville Platte. Larto Lake is good too and would be a little closer for you.

Bistineau has some good ones. South end is hot from what I'm hearing.

I've heard Caney has the big red ears, but have never tried for them. When I want big bream, I head to Black Bayou in Hosston. I don't pull them in by the buckets, but what I've caught are quality. Red ears that were 10-11 inch long have been pretty consistent for me. Lots of cypress trees to fish around.
Good luck where ever you end up.

I lived on Claiborne for 2.5 years. Caught some of the biggest bream I have ever seen in those 2.5 years. Get into one of the arms off of the lake on the dam end and move down the bank until you catch one. There will probably be more of them around. Some folks used worms. Crickets worked good for us.
