Default Any reports from Tickfaw River for sacs?

    Hoping to find some soon.
I've fished for catfish and bream most of my life but recently become interested in trying my luck with sac a lait.

Any tips would definitely be appreciated!

Look for structure, tree laid over from the bank or stumps, any docks or boats that don't get moved much. With this heat and bright skies the sacs will be looking for the cooler water in the shadows.

I don’t make it to the north shore much, to busy learning the south shore but here is what I can offer....Read and search here and all over the net... I have countless hours reading and you tubing videos to learn this art of chasing this tasty Sacs and still have a lot to learn but willing to share.... and then get out there and stick and move, catch a few and then they stop bitting - switch colors, if nothing, move to next spot that’s like the one you just left and repeat. Sacs always bite up not down... if 6ft deep, I start at 5 then 4 then 3 etc... this time of year I start shallow and then move deep and flip it when it’s cold. And hook sets are free, feel something - set hook, slack in line - set hook, line goes side ways - set hook... good luck and welcome and we looking forward to seeing some reports with pics.

What about trying to vertical jig around bridge columns? I was going to try around there and make my way up river.

Thanks for all the advice so far!

Bridges can be magnets for sacs. They provide structure and most importantly shade.

If you have a fish finder, it will make things easier, once you dial in your unit... I like to fish, where fish are and with these units you can pass by and see before you waste time... if you see whats in this pic, stop and load up the box!!! I have included a link to vertical jig the way i like to do it and he shows it the best. There is main ways to do this.... https://youtu.be/Az8AXOoS17U
