I knew the river was HIGH --- There is only a couple of feet from the water touching the RR bridge. I do not think a boat would go under it

Here is a table I found regarding the length of the fish and how much it would weigh. Of course, it's not super accurate, but it does give you a good idea of the weight. Notice that there are 2 tables, one for white crappie and another for black. Crappie Length To Weight Conversion Chart - In-Fisherman

Went back to the 'bone today, boy howdy was that wind howling. White capping waves and the whole nine yards. I just managed to boat two fish while my dad just managed one keeper white bass. I'm gonna head to poverty point in the morning. To try and get on those hybrids, and spend time with the kids.

At Poverty Point, go into the first set of canals, take the first right and go just past the last boat house on the right and before the chain link fence. Fish a shiner under a cork about 3 feet down close to shore. Caught a ton this way when we were down there the first week of March.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

Every 2 pounder that I catch, I weigh and have someone else also witness the weight, lord knows it took me long enough to catch the 1st one and I caught the 2nd one the same day. BUT with all that being said, now WOULD be the time that a big crappie would weigh 2 pounds. Hope this helps some.
Agreed, a 2lber isnt near as common as you think. When you put the scale to one you or someone else thinks is 2 lbs, they typically are closer to 1.5 lbs which is still a stud
