Looks like the perfect place to fish when the Spring Winds are whipping. Nice Pictures, the Boys smile says it all

    Hey LSU,
I have fish da bayou many time over the years. I usually go into da river to catch sacs. They will move in the da bayou to spawn. They will also move into the Gun Boat Island canals that is across the river from da bayou.

When the worms start dropping the perch will gang up under da trees. You can catch hundreds with a fly rod and popping bug. HTH

Thanks jig rig. Someone else told me about the worms falling from the trees. When does this usually happen? Sounds like this might be my new bream hole with the boys while Old River is too high. Would be nice to find some sacs too.

Also, I’ve never fished the Amite. Do I need to watch out for any sandbars that far down the river while running? Sounds like it’s deep. I noticed the bayou was at least 10 ft deep.

That’s what I was thinking while I was there. Seems like it’ll be a good place as long as the Amite is dropping. It was rising yesterday after the rain.

Thanks for telling me where it's located. A little to far for me to drive over but a very nice looking place.
