    Default High Water!

High water looks like it’s on the way. Just checked rivergages and it looks like I will not be able to make it to my camp in Saline/Larto after Thursday due to backwater flooding. Heading that way tomorrow to prep for possible flooding of the camp. Looks like my fishing may be over just as it started. Still too early to tell how high Larto will actually get.

There's a whole bunch headed your way. Drove down to our place in Winn Parish today and Dugdemona is extremely high. Over the road high. It and Castor Creek form Little River.

I'm heading to Larto in the morning to help a friend prepair for high water again.

Yeah. Having flashbacks of 2016. Hope it doesn’t get that high to flood the camp again. Just gonna say prayers. I guess worse things could happen.

Just saw some information that predicted Larto would crest at 41.8 feet. That would be about 1.5 feet above this afternoon's level.

I spoke with Mr. Leon at Woodson's Landing yesterday morning. He said that Big Creek rose 4 ft in 24 hours. The water looked like a river flowing past the boat ramp.

I would love it if this were to happen, but that may not be accurate. The black river is still rising and from what I understand may not crest until mid March. The black is what controls it. Lord I hope that info is correct though.

Update. This is from a camp owner on Cross Bayou. Forecast to crest about 48' around the 15th of March.

That will put a foot of water in my yard, but not in my camp. Hope that happens. Don’t need anymore rain though.

I left the house about 1 hr before daylight hoping to get in a couple hrs fishing before meeting my podna to help him move his camper trailer. This is what I ran into on the bean field rd coming from the Vick Rd to lake Larto, water as far as I could see.
