There's a good article in this month's Louisiana Sportsman magazine about crappie fishing on D'Arbonne in February.

It's flat and fried cornbread made with water instead of milk. When done correctly it's good

Hot water cornbread that I have had is like a pancake but made with cornmeal. And can't fine unless you go to a sole food place and not many all have it.
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.

From my mother's recipe: "Hot Water Cornbread (for about 12 patties) Ingredients: 2 cups cornmeal, 2 table spoons flour, 1 teaspoon salt if the meal is not self rising
Directions: Mix ingredients then add boiling water (enough to make a thick paste) and stir. Make about 12 patties and fry in a pan of hot grease."
