We fished and fished and fished, and, wished and wished and wished but could not even buy a bite from a sac. Finally got two bass to take our jigs, one about 1 pound and another about 6 inches long. I did have a sac come up and tap a jig and spit it out where I could see it. I came to the conclusion that a lot of the taps we were getting that weren't bluegills were sac just taping the jig and not taking it. The bluegill bites are tap, tap, tap while other fish just bump the bait lightly. I even scented my jigs with different stuff but still no takers. We even tried 4 different water systems miles apart but the story was the same where ever we went. I'm not sure that maybe the weather system that came through on Saturday had anything to do with it, but the water was almost a foot higher and we had some rain also. What ever was the problem we never overcame it. Still it was nice to get out with my son. Boy did it get hot.
I think the fish are resting after the spawn and haven't yet moved into their summer pattern. Grass beds are not up yet making the fish hard to find. I found some fish on the sonar in the middle of canals but they wouldn't bite.
Here's to better fishing next time,
