Yesterday the everything was just right, sunny, no wind, clean water. The problem was I had a job to finish. I had formed up a new sidewalk from my front steps to the road way which had it own set of steps. So I had mixed and poured 16 eighty pound bags of concrete. I finished early enough to do a fishing trip but my old body said NO.

Today was a different story. It was cloudy to start and windy but at least the water looked great. We first hit a few canals looking for sacs but none to be found. Next we went after bass and hit the jackpot, we caught more than eniough for supper and put the rest back. It was a great time. Linda even tied into a "shoe-pic" and had a battle of her life. It wasn't as big a Bruce's but I glad for she had her hands full with that one. After landing it for her with the net she still didn't know what she had. It was only the 2nd one she's ever caught and the first one was 20 years ago. All in all it was a great day for us.

We also met two other husband/wife teams fishing. We chatted with one couple for a while and found out they were from Pierre Part and had only been to the Grove a couple of times. I gave them a card and invited them to join the forum with us as they were some of the nicest people. Here are a couple of shots of the fish, we caught plenty and only kept some. We would go back tomorrow but it's Saturday, too many people. For a Friday the parking lot was almost full so I can just imaging what it will look like tomorrow. Next weeks weather look great so I'm sure we can find a couple of days to go.
