Fished Sunday for a few hours at Crooked creek. 5 big females, around 2 pounds, let go a bunch. Fewer fish on the sonar, and all females. I think the males moved up on the beds. Water temp was 59 in the middle of the lake.

Those are great pictures! And the reports have me "chomping at the bit". After last year tithe reports and pictures are truly a welcome sight. Surely hoping this year is off to
a good start. How's the water temp? Are y'all still catching in the deep? I be had some fairly serious medical issues this year but got a feeling being "back at the camp and on the water" will be the perfect medicine😉. Hope to be there soon. Happy fishing to all of you. Thanks for info. See you on the water!

Here's hoping you have the medical issues behind you and wishing you success when you get back on the water....wife and I drove up and back from Baton Rouge to Larto Monday (yesterday) to scope out the Larto scene and Uncle Buds Cabins...first time ever to see the lake....had one of those burgers at Larto Landing I heard about....folks at Uncle Buds said the fish were moving up to the banks....made me wish I had brought the boat....water color was very nice...

Fish are still scattered. I fished Saturday and ended up with 6. Tried doing a little spider rigging in 12-17 FOW and only caught a few small ones; no keepers. After an 1 1/2 without much success, I moved towards the shallows and started fishing the button woods in 1-3 FOW. Ended up with 6 nice fish, however, they were scattered. Didn't catch more than one in a spot. 5 males and 1 female. Don't think it will be long. Just need some consistent warm days with no fronts.

Thank you for the reply. We hope to be back at LARTO for a day or so of "getting everything ready" . And then ready, set, go! I think everyone is twice as anxious for this round since we all missed it due to the flood last year. Thanks again and good luck to you

You can also check out Larto Cabins. Great people. I have had my RV there for 2 years.
