I'm with you Bob, I like to share with others. I find that most of the people I meet in the Orange Grove area are courteous. Last time Linda and I were out we were fishing at the junction of 2 canals when a boat pulled up and asked us which way we were heading as he didn't want to cut us off. We had a nice little chat and I told him I was going right and he said well I'll go this way. The same day I also had a youngster in an overpowered bass boat pass me from behind in the main Orange Grove canal and nearly hit me with his spray. All he had to do is pull up even to where I could see him and I would have moved over to give him all the room he wanted.

just the other day in 70 i had a guy a full step about to pass me and to my luck i hooked a good fish, the boat stopped asked if i was fishing the bank in which i replied yes, and he still pulled up 20 yards in front of me and started fishing. wanted to go check out a spot past him so stayed on step and whippe around in canal figured i would go somewhere else.

I don't know what I would do. I have never had the problem of catching so many fish that someone would want to get that close to me.

"gene" .....bass fisherman are the worse to me. Always in a hurry to go no where and when they get there they in hurry leave. I guess if I had a 250 sitting on a big fiberglass boat I would try it to.

I ran into a bass fishing buddy one day while looking at trolling motors. He laughed at my reasons for upgrading and said "You white perch guys. I'm going to blow by you at 70mph". I said almost the same thing as you. I said "Well, while you're running up and down the lake at 70mph every five minutes, I'll be trolling along at 1.5mph actually catching fish."

I'm thinking I wasn't clear as to what actually happened. We were at poverty point it's a pretty open lake there were 4 boats within about 100ft of each other in had caught 6 Good crappie by moving trolling forward 30 foot and drifting back every time I'd go forward the boat behind would to and it got so close I was unable to drift back to where I was catching the fish then the guy in the other boat caught a really nice crappie and the other guy in his boat fishing with him said boy you caught that one right out from under his boat speaking of my boat. Hopefully this is more clear why it didn't set to we'll. People just need to be more respectful when on the lake.

I see what you mean now. That's not very courteous of them. In that case, I'd tell them how I was fishing and continue. If we bump, we bump. I've never fished LOP a single time. I hear it's great from friends.
