I am on Henderson 3-5 days a week. Only fish hair jigs and plastic. I usually don't fisher deeper than 4-5ft. This time of year they are starting to move up in shallows. Went today caught 9 2 were females. All were caught in 4-5ft of water fishing 2ft deep. Black and Chrt was the color. I am also the one who made the Henderson fishing report page. You will see me posting all the time if you need any help just let me know. My name is Derek

I would start by launching under the interstate at Ramah. You can run in the middle between the interstates or ,like me, try the pylons of the bridge. I'm convinced, however, that the weather has all species convinced that it's spring and time to move up shallow. Find those big stands of cypress in 3' of water, start twice your casting distance out, and work your way in til you're bouncing your jig and cork off the tree. If no bites by then, move to the next tree and repeat. Good luck and welcome to the club.
Thanks for the tips Derek. I put in a request to join the facebook group, so I hope to learn some there.
This may sound stupid, but are you putting you jig under a cork to maintain that 2' depth? Thanks.
It was closed but it re-opened when the water level came back up.........they close it when the water level on the Pelba gage (https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?...agency_cd=USGS) gets down around 7 feet...it is at 12.88 feet right now and rising...it is a good concrete ramp 3 lanes wide....lots of parking....when it is closed, you can go launch on the south end of the lake along the levee....I use Basin Landing then........
Thanks for the info. Is there a preferred water level for fishing the lake?
