    Default Today they "prefers shiners"

Dad and I made a run to poverty point this morning. Fished deep water on south end. Started out well on shiners. They boated 11 out of the first 12 fish and out fished jigs all day. The best jig combo I got on was key lime pie on a pink head, "yes I did fish plastic today" it caught the last 6 or 7 jig fish.

We ended up with 34 keepers fishing 16' to 18' deep.

It's funny to listen to the regulars over there complain about how bad it is compared to how good it used to be. I think to myself the fishing must not be too bad if I keep seeing the same group of guys fishing there every time I go year after year....

The only pic I took today.

Nice. Dad n I get minimal fishing time bc he's a weekday warrior while I work.
Those fish have shoulders. They're perfect fish. I'd rather have 10 of those than 30 of my river fish for the past 3 years.
Ya gotta fish what they'll eat, right?!?
Almost was Gon jump in the plastic game bf I found out another lil man was coming along.
Looks like mostly whites, but wow....nice fish for sure.
I'd say the guys complaining should take notes.....

Good job 20Watt. Congratulations! Good to see there are still a few fish left in the Point. Thinking of heading over there myself one day next week, depending on the weather.

As in pouring your own plastics? I'd love to try that out but I'm afraid of what the start up cost might be.
