Welcome aboard Watcajon.
I don't know anyone that guides on poverty. You don't really need one to be honest. The lake is not that big and it fishes smaller than that. You can see from the marina were 80% of the boats are fishing in march.
If you do come up one of us that fish it regular will point you in the right direction.

Welcome aboard friend. The lake is not that hard to fish. The North end of the Lake is where the spring fishing is best from what i have heard.Just launch your boat at the North marina and look for the boats.
Being from South Louisiana and being mainly a salt water fisherman, I do hope the lake is easy to fish. I am assuming that in March it will be pretty crowded. Every speck of accommodations and camping area in the State Park is already sold out for the entirety of March, so we will stay in Delhi. I am hoping to connect with a fishermen on this site that has been to the area and can help a newbie. I appreciate the quick and informative responses I received, happy to have found this forum.
There are several people from south Louisiana who fish the lake every spring. I don't remember all of them, but I think one of them is a member of the board and goes by bobfish1. Don't know him personally, but he is one heck of a crappie fisherman. Everyone else is pretty much right about fishing the lake, but this guy catches more BIG fish out of there than anyone else I know. I believe he could catch crappie out of a road ditch. I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning him.
Welcome to the board and one precaution. If you decide to fish on your own beware that not all of the open water is DEEP water. There are some places out in the open water that are only 1-2 feet deep and would tear up a fellows boat if hit at a high rate of speed. With all of that said, good luck while up here.

Like many have said above its not a hard lake to fish. Wherever the boats are is generally where the fish are biting. Actually made a trip over there today but it was pretty slow as we only managed 1 perch about 14 inches and everyone we talked to had about the same luck. Talked to a guy who said the fishing had been pretty good as of late so I plan on making a trip back here shortly. In march the fishing should be good so I don't think you'll have any problems at all.
Welcome to C.c. I like your name. If you want to tell us where you from, go back in your profile and edit it. Put the cursor in front of Louisiana and type your town.
