Redge, if I remember, steam is actually dry and full of oxygen.It has to be hot to stay in this gas state. By injecting it into the flare tips it causes the fire to be hotter and that makes it burn more particles. That is why it "looks" cleaner. Still burning the same amount of hydrocarbons. Also, when you pass a plant and see white"smoke" that is usually just water vapor. Some caused from steam cooling off. I hope this is correct. Anyone know better feel free to correct me.
