11:45 -6:00. Managed to take home 32. All big fish. Some real good slabs too. Most on pearl and maybe ten on the cow. Threw back four dinks. Pretty good day for me. Only hung up three times and never broke a line. I brought home all my cranks. Landed one of those four pound striped green carp. Fourth fish of the day was about a ten pound goo pulled up on around 120' of line. That was a chore! Now I wished I had gone out early this morning. May have had a chance at a limit, but banged out ten pretty quick after it got dark. I would have kept pullin' if I had a little more battery. Probably could have pulled another 30-45 minutes, but it was hard to see my rod tips. Wonder how the other 100 boats out there did. Fine job again on a heck of haul, Greg! Good to see you again bud.

I talked to a couple guys at the ramp. They had been spider rigging shiners one had 9 the other had 14

That older gentleman in the ranger back where I was had six when I left out of there and to the point before Wilson's. I had slab city going on there until the crowd invaded. When they got discouraged and bugged out, I caught another ten or so big fish in there. Hated to leave that area, but my curiosity got the best of me and I had to explore. I was getting tired of going in the same 100 yard circle anyway. I only told a couple how deep I was fishing. Well, I told a bunch of them, but I only told a couple the truth.

I think we're going to try them in the morning. Just going to spider rig with shiners I guess. I bought a dozen cranks a while back and some beetle spins too but my 225hp idles too fast to troll, plus that seems like too much work.

Put trolling motor on about 1/2 throttle cast as far as you can plus pull little more out ...and let the big dogs eat I'll probably be out there tomorrow too give me a shout

I have a 45lb trolling motor on my tracker Pro 170. I find that setting it on 4 is just about right going into a gentle breeze. Going with the wind, 3 works well. If it's blowing like it was Wednesday, setting 1 to keep the boat straight with the wind, 5 just to keep the cranks from floating back up into 15mph gusts and white capping waves. If you have a spider rig, just turn it sideways and stick your rods out 90°. I don't have line counters. I throw it as far as I can and then let it take line out and watch the bait until it looks about like 100' of line. I pull through 16-17' of water and if the baits don't drag the bottom, I line out until they do, then go fish 18' or deeper water. It's not the perfect method, but it works good enough to catch fish without investing in more reels. I have a Berkly line counter, but clipping it onto one rid at a time takes too long and becomes a lot of work when you're catching fish. Just FYI, pulling from the front can be a pain in the butt, but sometimes it goes smoothly. My biggest complaint is my neck hurts something fierce at the end of the day from looking back and forth every few seconds, all day long.
