I've had some truck issues, so couldn't pull my boat anywhere for a while...not that I've had a ton of time anyway. Wife always has plans for something. Mom's 80th birthday was this past Saturday and we had a party for her on Sunday, complete with an Elvis tribute artist...he did a great job and she had a blast, but it all took a lot of time to set up, so kept us busy. I did manage to go fishing off a pier at Caddo Lake on Labor Day, but only kept 8 bream and two small catfish. Nothing worth posting about. I'm looking forward to getting back after crappie though with the cooler weather. That is, if I can evade the 'honey do' list and get time away from the budget season work....it's that time of year again.

Not in your neck of the woods Paw-Paw, but I've been getting out some lately. Fished Larto Labor Day weekend and went back there today. Will post report and pics shortly.
Only need three more years before I can think like a fish.

Bruce, right now any report from me would be a good report. Even a boat ride. I spent a lot of time today getting everything back into the boat and we're almost ready. Could probably go tomorrow but have a Dr.s appointment at 11 and the afternoons are too filled with thunder showers. So maybe Friday will be the magic day.

SS, Linda got tired looking at the four walls inside and the rain outside so Friday we headed to Pineville to visit friends and of course the rain followed us up there. Then we went to Lecompte a little south of Alexandria to find our friends with a lake for a back yard on Saturday. We worked our way back home stopping at friends along the way and finally at the casino in Amelia where Linda came away with 100 dollars more than when she went in with. I of course lost 10. Stayed up late and got up late this morning to find the sun shinning and almost no rain in sight so maybe today is the day. We should have went to bed early and got up early then I wouldn't be at the keyboard but in the boat.
Thanks for the report. See ya.

Any time you leave Amelia belle Ahead. That's an accomplishment. I would visit more often if I could tie up my boat after fishing I'm real familiar with Lecompte pineville etc. although I was born and raised in paradise here in houma both of my parents are from that area ( glenmora and kisatchie) and I spent countless time up there growing up until now . Technically I'm a coonass-redneck just spent a weekend in kisatchie a month ago wading and fishing the creeks and will be back there and glenmora hunting couple weekends in October . Good to see you got back out fishing is superb. We caught 100 plus Tuesday as did some of my friends and bob did today.
