    we have been having a rash of burglaries around the Ville Platte area in the last 2 months. Just as you say, middle of the day in "nice" neighborhoods. Someone even stole 2 BACKHOES !!! It's amazing that no one catches these people. Although, 1 of the backhoes was recovered due to an anonomous tip. Police surrounded his house at 5 AM and busted him. He had a garage FULL of stuff.

    Got an email from Safeco Ins. the day before my birthday:

    Guess who replied to that email quick, fast and in a hurry?!?!? Plus, my boys each gave me a Bass Pro gift card for my birthday so that only leaves me out a couple of hundred bucks! Thank you Safeco and James & Patrick!!!!
    Now, the hard part. I get to go shopping!!!
    The bright spot in all of this is that they left my jig poles and ALL my jigs and cranks. So at least I can still sac fish. And when I get the new sonar/GPS, all I have to do is plug it in and go. Wiring and transducer are still on the boat. WooHoo!
    And then the wife gave me my Concealed Carry class and permit!

    All in all not a bad birthday!
