    Default Drift Sock Question

I just bought two 48" drift socks for my Tracker. The printed instructions as well as some posts I've read have you deploying the drift socks off the side of the boat. Is there any reason that you wouldn't want them attached to the stern (assuming that you were only using the trolling motor)?

All the ones I see on the lake are attached to the stern tie down eyes...of which there is one on each side of the stern
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Thanks, that's where I had intended to use them.

It would depend on how you are wanting the boat to be positioned. If you are wanting it to drift with the bow forward, then connect it to the stern,. If you are wanting it to drift the boat sideways, then you would connect to the side. I have seen some pics where drifting forward, it was connected to the bow and was below the boat.. It all depends on how you want to the boat to drift.. Here is an example. http://www.in-fisherman.com/files/20...-Fisherman.jpg
