    Default Back to the Lac

    .Lac des Allemands that is.
Checked the weather radar this AM. Nothing showing south or east. Didn't even think about looking west.:big grin

I know the TFunky water is back in it's bank by checking National Weather Service Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service
but it's gotta be muddy.I say I'll wait another week or so for a visit to my favorite river. So were too. The Tic? Nope it's gotta be in bad shape too. Thinkin NOLA east. The Chef?. It's been a long time. So as you know to the Lac I go.

I'm Listening to my old country station out of Houma on the way down. about the time I get to the landing I hear a weather warning report. Yep they say bad storm on the way. Pull out the trusty cell phone and look at the radar. Bad it's red and all over the Lac. I said I'm gonna wait it out. Gotta pass.:big grin

About a twenty minute wait under da bridge. That's ok I'll watch the commercial fish folks trying to beat the rain and loading their boats.

Got lucky, I see a window in da weather. Its warm enough if I get wet. Gotta go to know.

First spot nada. still a little drizzle. But to late to turn back now. Second spot bam bam two nice sacs. Then nothing. Now I know there here.

Found the fish shallow for the most part. went to a cork pretty quick. Caught all afternoon. Most fish came off a wood. A few punching.

Kept a dozen or so sacs, half dozen green trout. A sampling of goggle eyes and chink a pins. a few big pretty perch too.

Big trout went 17" had half a tail and a plastic worm in it's throat. Caught a big escargot too. That's a first for me.:big grin Threw em both back to be caught another day.

water looked great. Too clear IMO in the back of the canals. Only caught google eyes in the clear water.

Box shot will have to wait till tomorrow

Good to know you were able to catch a good mess of fish. Still too much water, too much wind, and too much cold front up this way for me. Hopefully it will be good the week after Easter. Got a trip planned with grandkids to Poverty Point.

I once caught a bass with a worm stuck in his vent. He was very skinny and sickly looking. I kept him and put him out of his misery.
