Thread: Mermentau River again-2-2016

Well made it back to the Mermentau River on Saturday.Lots of people out on the water.Once again fished off of the Ferguson Ditch and was able to limit out.Fish caught were mostly medium size males with a couple of females (with eggs) caught but no real nice fish to report.Fish caught with shiners in about 1ft deep next to cypress knees and tupelo trees.Not sure if females have all spawned and males are fertilizing or if males are preparing for females.All in all had a great day and was able to have a little challenge with two of my friends (brothers) that I met while on the water.Arrived at the same area at same time and fished the same area.They ended up with a total of 53 fish between the 2 and after we all met up at one of the brothers house and cleaned fish.
