I see. We call them white bass up here. Oklahoma calls them sand bass for some reason.

Last year is what you described. A little tight line action and most were still in the channel. Water was about 62 last year when I visited. Tight lining around cypress and docks is awesome! I prefer it over spider rigs and such.
